Corporate gift box packaging with rigid box and festive hamper contents

Short answer: Corporate gift boxes come in a few standard formats — rigid boxes, sleeve boxes, tray-and-lid boxes, with inserts and fill inside — each suited to a different budget and unboxing feel. Meru Gifting builds hampers in all four formats, in brand colours, at MOQ 50.

Packaging shapes how a hamper feels the moment it's opened.

What is a rigid box and when should I use one?

A rigid box is a sturdy, structured box — often magnetic-close — that holds its shape without folding flat. Use it for premium hampers and leadership gifts, where the box itself is part of the gift experience. It costs more than a folding carton but photographs and unboxes better, which matters for gifts likely to be shared on social media.

What is a sleeve box and when should I use one?

A sleeve box is a printed outer cover that slides over a plain inner box, letting you brand the packaging without redesigning the whole box structure. It's a cost-effective way to add your logo and colours to a standard hamper without paying for full custom tooling. Use it for mid-tier employee or client hampers.

Which packaging format fits your hamper?

What's your hamper budget tier?

A simple kraft box with ribbon keeps cost sensible at this tier — skip rigid boxes and inserts.

A sleeve box over a tray-and-lid box gives a branded look without the cost of full rigid packaging.

A rigid magnetic-close box with a custom insert gives the best unboxing experience for leadership or client gifts. See festive hampers.

What are inserts and fill, and do I need both?

An insert is a shaped tray inside the box that holds each item in a fixed position, preventing movement in transit. Fill — shredded paper, straw or foam — cushions items when there's no custom insert. Most hampers use one or the other: inserts for a curated, premium look; fill for a faster, lower-cost pack.

Packaging term What it is Best for
Rigid box Structured, magnetic-close box Premium, leadership, client gifts
Sleeve box Printed cover over a plain box Mid-tier branded hampers
Tray-and-lid box Simple two-piece box Standard employee hampers
Kraft box Recycled brown-paper box Eco-led, budget-conscious briefs
Insert Shaped tray fixing item positions Curated, multi-item hampers
Loose fill Shredded paper or straw cushioning Faster, lower-cost packing

Can hamper packaging be printed in our brand colours?

Yes. Meru Gifting prints sleeve boxes, ribbons and gift tags in your brand colours, and can match rigid box exteriors to your palette for larger orders. Share your brand guidelines when you brief us, so colour matching is confirmed at mock-up stage rather than after production.

Hamper packaging checklist

What's the MOQ and turnaround for custom hamper packaging?

The MOQ for custom-branded hamper packaging is 50 pieces, matching our standard branded-item MOQ. Turnaround is 7–15 working days after you approve a mock-up, and Diwali orders should be placed 4–6 weeks ahead since packaging and printing capacity gets booked up across vendors that season.

Does packaging affect shipping cost for corporate hampers?

Yes. Rigid boxes and custom inserts add bulk and weight, which raises courier cost per unit compared to a compact kraft or sleeve box. For pan-India delivery to 25+ states, or international shipping to the USA, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka and Thailand, factor packaging size into your budget early — a smaller footprint box travels cheaper without changing what's inside.

Can we see packaging samples before a bulk hamper order?

Yes. Meru Gifting's studio at #273/2, SC Road, 2nd Cross, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru 560009 is open Mon–Sat, 9 AM–7 PM, and we also offer video-call shopping for buyers outside Bangalore. Seeing the box weight, magnet strength and insert fit in person is especially useful before committing to a large, premium hamper run.
